Dog Park Update - January 2013

How much money have we raised?
$35,000 +
When will the Eureka Dog Park break ground?
We do not have an official date yet. We are working with the City and our sponsors to get the
dog park started. There is a lot more than just a fence involved. There are State ADA laws,
environmental considerations, and safety concerns.
What do we need/How can you help?
-A licensed and bonded grading contractor to volunteer their services
-Grading materials
-Clean & environmentally tested fill material
-A licensed and bonded paving contractor to volunteer their services
-Paving materials (for the parking lot, path, and a table area)
-A licensed and bonded fencing contractor to install our fencing
-New 5’ or 6’ chain link fencing donated (so far we can get it at cost)
-A licensed general contractor to volunteer to oversee and coordinate our project
-Benches donated
-An ADA accessible table
-Drinking fountains donated (for people and dogs)
-Individual and Corporate Sponsors (monetary donations so we can purchase materials)
-Link to us on your website
-Promote us on your Facebook Page (share our updates with your friends)
-Tweet about the Eureka Dog Park (encourage your followers to donate)
-Volunteers & more Dog Park Committee Members to man booths, find sponsors, & plan events
Will the Dog Park really happen?
Yes, the Eureka Dog Park is really happening. It is taking longer than any of us had ever
hoped, but we are almost ready to break ground and start building the park. We are all
very anxious and excited about the dog park. The park has received an abundance of support
from dog lovers, sponsors, donors, the City of Eureka, and the community. We have a mailing
list of 300 supporters, 775 fans on our Facebook page, and have raised over $33,000 thus far. We need
more help, more money, and your expertise in this final push to open the park. How will you help?
