I was taking a nap on one of my favorite dog blankets. My brother was sleeping next to me and my Mom was typing on the computer nearby. I was dreaming of eating a big delicious bone. It was huge and tasted so good. My Mom bought it for me because I am such a good boy. I was licking the outside and just as I was about to take a big bite I woke up.
There was this loud noise coming from the sky. I’ve heard it before but this was different. It didn’t just go over our house and leave. It went round and round. Then it hovered nearby. I ran to the window to assess the danger. I could see the flying car. My Mom says it is a helicopter. Helicopter must be the brand. My daddy drives a Subaru.
My Mom came over and stood next to me. She looked out the window and told me it was okay. She ruffled my fur and went back to the computer. I could tell that it wasn’t okay. This was not normal. I stayed on alert. After all, with my brother hurt I am the only one able to protect my Mom and our house. I was a little worried that my Dad was working outside several blocks away. Luckily I know that he can take care of himself.
After a while I flopped back down on my blanket. The flying car wasn’t visible out the window anymore so there was no point in standing there. I just kept my ears pealed towards the sound. I heard footsteps approach the house. I ran to the window barking. False alarm. It was just a kid walking by. I went back to my spot and waited.
It took quite a while but eventually the car flew away. I wonder if the driver takes his dog with him. I’m not sure if I would like being that high. It would be neat to be able to see everything. I bet you can see a lot of dogs from up there. It’s a really noisy car though. I think it needs a better muffler.

I was right! There was nothing normal about the flying car hovering a flew blocks from our house. They were on the lookout for a guy with a gun. He pointed that gun at people at a bank that my Mom and I walk by all the time. That is NOT okay. I know a LOT of nice people that work in the stores in that area. I think I know why they picked the bank. My Mom says it is because they have the most money to steal. I disagree. I think it is because they don’t have a dog. Several of the stores in Henderson Center have dogs. They protect their stores. The bank should get a dog.
